The Syrian Canadian College of Osteopathy (SCCO) was founded by
Mahmoud Alshared, DOMP, Dip.Ed, President & CEO. Mahmoud completed his studies in Canada, where he practiced for over 10 years in the healthcare field. After years of serving patients in Canada, he brings his expertise, vision, and passion to Syria by establishing the region’s first osteopathy college.
At SCCO, students gain the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience needed to become leaders in manual osteopathy—combining traditional principles with modern healthcare approaches.
Osteopathy is a holistic, hands-on healthcare profession that focuses on improving health by treating the body as a whole. Osteopathic practitioners use gentle manual techniques to restore balance, mobility, and function.
